Four Seasons Resort, Mahe, Seychelles

Four Seasons Resort, Mahe, Seychelles

Why we love it
Perched up on the hill overlooking a calm private cove with the bluest water, this collection of Villas was a favourite for us. With the signature great service expected of a Four Seasons Hotel, it was also authentically friendly and relaxed. Best thing is the snorkeling right off the beach along the granite fringe, which is superb!

What to expect
There are villas high up on the hillside, in the gardens and a few right on the beach. Villas are either one or two bedrooms and there is a presidential villa. Each villa has a private plunge pool, deck with a sala, airconditioning and all the luxuries expected. Most have glorious views and are very private. Golf carts buzz you around the resort so the steep hills are not an issue.

What to do
There is a gorgeous spa at the highest point of the resort, that offers yoga and a wonderful selection of treatments. The activity centre can arrange snorkeling, as well as diving, and a host of nearby activities that include glass bottom boat tours, island tours and hikes. The resort itself has a huge pool, three restaurants and plenty to keep you busy.

When to visit
Seychelles is hot and pretty humid all year round. The rain is more prevelant from November to April, however not much more than short hard showers. The humidity is highest during the rainy season. The wind and choppy seas start in May and go on till November, with the rainy season being calmest for boating.

Kids:
There is a kids centre and plenty to keep kids happy there. The home reef means kids can safely snorkel off the beach. The staff are excellent with kids.

How to get there
It is a 35 minute transfer from Mahe Airport.
